Happy New Year!

It's the year of the dragon! Along with the year of presidential elections!
In honor of such, I just couldn't help myself to create this little (hopefully) meme. I thought it was funny; not only because people constantly mis-pronounce Katamari Damacy as Katamari Democracy, but also because it is a hilarious thought to think of the little prince rolling up the whole world and its capitals.
Okay, maybe that wasn't hilarious, but more horrifying. Hey, at least we will live on as stars!

Backwards updates! And a Knitty Knip :3

I call this post a backwards update because I am posting about a small little something, while neglecting to post about a very big something that already happened.

The very big something is: *drumroll please* I GOT MARRIED!!!

But that's been put all over facebook so I don't feel like making a blog post on it! Tee hee! Sorry I know I'm lazy.

Rather, there is another event that is taking precedence in my life right now: I just knit my first "thing"!

Yes that's right, I knit a little catnip-filled mouse for my familiar Ambrosia. It's her new best friend- she can't stop playing with it!!

I'm making my own wedding cake toppers :)

So right now I'm being the epitome of laziness- sitting in my pajamas at noon and tinkering around with some tiny sculpey bodies. I'm making my wedding cake toppers! These babies are inspired by our Chibi save the dates we sent out several months ago. So far I've got the head and shoulders of me completed, and the head of Yoshi completed. Btw, did I tell you our cake is going to be awesome!? I can't wait to post pictures.

Our Save the Date Postcard! :)

These are the Save the Date postcards for Yoshi and I's upcoming wedding!! I drew the chibi versions of us using Corel Painter and then did the rest in InDesign! :D

CRAFTS ON THE CORNER 2010

Hooray! Last weekend I was in my first ever crafts fair in Bolivar, TN! I set out everything Abstract Energy Studios had to offer: my food jewelry, ArtCandles, and acrylic paintings! It was a fun time and a great start for my fledgling business! I will definitely be back next year!

Guess what?! I'm Engaged!

Yes that's right! He proposed on September 25th, but I've been so busy I just now got a chance to post about it! Yoshi and I are getting married! :)

My new favorite meal!

Call me weird. But I think I'm on to something with this.

You know how sushi originated from bits of fish being "accidentally" mixed with rice?

Well I have concocted some type of sushi 2.0 with fruit (no fish involved with this mixture, don't start to get grossed out), brown rice, and vanilla soy milk.

For some reason I find this mixture so delicious and good! It eats like cold cereal with the warmth and creamy texture of oatmeal. It might be a bland for some (because I don't add sugar to anything if I can help it), but I find that the vanilla soy milk adds just the right amount of sweetness. Here's what I do if any of you brave souls would like to try it:

1. cook some boil-in-bag brown rice in the microwave for 10 minutes
2. While the rice is still hot, add some fresh blueberries and mix in.
3. Then pour some vanilla soy milk over the rice like cereal.

optional: heat everything up again so the milk will be warm.

To me this tastes like a blueberry muffin. I bet it would be wonderful with some whole grain oats.
